Action will take place between November 28 and December 16 at the Kalinga Stadium with 16 teams competing in all.

India, the Asian champions, have also been joined in Pool C by Olympic silver medallists Belgium and Canada, who will meet in the opening game of the tournament before the hosts round off day one with their South Africa clash.

Defending champions Australia have been placed in Pool B alongside England, Ireland and China.

Reigning Olympic gold medallists Argentina will contest Pool A and face matches against Spain, New Zealand and France.

Pool D features Olympic bronze medallists Germany, 2014 World Cup runners-up The Netherlands, the European champions, as well as Malaysia and Pakistan.

The second day of action will see Pool A games with Argentina meeting Spain and New Zealand colliding with the French.

Pool B will take centre stage on day three with Australia beginning their defence against Ireland and England locking horns with China.

The Netherlands will then play Malaysia to begin Pool D on day four, with Germany and Pakistan coming face-to-face in a meeting between two former world champions.

Pool play will continue until December 9 with the four group winners advancing straight to the quarter-finals.

Teams who finish second and third in their pools will contest play-offs to earn the remaining four spots in the last eight.
