The most convincing Iranian win of the day came courtesy of Hossein Ahmad Nouri, who recorded a 3-0 success over Japan's Masato Sumi to clinch the 87 kilogram title.

The bronze medals were shared by Azat Beishebekov of home country Kyrgyzstan and China's Fei Pen, after they beat Kazakhstan's Khussein Mutsolgov and Iraq's Husham Majeed Ali Al Thaalebi respectively.

Behnam Aliakbar Mehdizadeh Arpatapeh claimed Iran's second title of the day thanks to a 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan's Muminjon Abdullaev in the 130kg final.

The bronze medals were once again shared by Chinese and Kyrgyz athletes as Xiaoming Nie and Murat Ramonov recorded wins over India's Naveen Naveen and Kazakhstan's Anton Savenko respectively.

Unfortunately for Iran, that was the limit to their gold medal tally as Paris 2017 World Championship bronze medallist Mohammadali Abdolhamid Geraei lost out to China's Bing Yang by a close 7-6 scoreline in the 77kg competition.

Maxat Yerezhepov of Kazakhstan and Shermet Permanov of Turkmenistan shared the bronze medal thanks to wins against Japan's Shohei Yabiku and Uzbekistan's Jalgasbay Berdimuratov.

Earlier in the day, Shota Tanoukra of Japan defeated home athlete Zholaman Sharshenbekov 5-4 to clinch gold in the 55kg competition.

Kumar Rajender of India, who beat Uzbekistan's Javokhir Mirakhmedov, and Kazakhstan's Khorlan Zhakansha, who came out on top against China's Liguo Cao, shared the bronze medals.

There was more disappointment later on for the home crowd as another Kyrgyz wrestler lost in a final.

This time it was Urmatbek Amatov who was thrashed 8-0 by Uzbekistan's Elmurat Tasmuradov, a bronze medallist at the Rio 2016 Olympics, in the 63kg competition.

Kazakhstan's Mirambek Ainagulov and Dokyung Jung of South Korea shared bronze after victories against India's Vikram Krushnath Kurade and Japan's Takayuki Inoguchi.

The event continues tomorrow with five more Greco Roman titles up for grabs.
