Sri Lanka is set to welcome players for the BNP Paribas World Team Cup Asia Qualification event.

Competition will take place in the capital city Colombo, with the Sri Lanka Tennis Association hosting for the next four days.

The clay court event will offer nations the chance to book their place in the World Team Cup final in The Netherlands.

Countries from both Asia and Oceania will contest the qualification event.

Only the winners of the men’s and women’s competitions will be assured of progression to the finals.

It is the third stage of the qualification process, which began with last month’s Americas qualifier.

The United States men’s team and Argentina’s women’s squad secured places, after emerging as winners in Orlando.

Kenya then made full use of home advantage in Nairobi by qualifying for the women’s event earlier this month, although Morocco secured the men’s berth.

A European qualifier is scheduled to be held from April 11 to 15 in Vilamoura, Portugal.

The Finals are due to take place in Apeldoorn from May 28 and June 3.
