Youth world champion Shashi Chopra reached the final of the women's 57 kilogram event with a 4-1 split decision win over Riza Pasuit of The Philippines.

She will now face Ratchadaporn Saoto of Thailand in tomorrow's final. 

The other Indian female fighter to reach the final was Pavitra in the 60kg category, who came out on top against South Korea's Hwang Hyejung by a comfortable 5-0 scoreline.

She will also face a Thai opponent in her final in the form of Nilawan Techasuep.

The men's 60kg event also saw an Indian athlete win their semi-final 5-0 as Manish Kaushik defeated Lai Chu-yen of Chinese Taipei.

He will now take on Japan's Rentaro Kimura in the gold medal bout.

Three-time King's Cup gold medallist Shyam Kumar will face Mario Blasius of home nation Indonesia in his 49kg final after being given a walkover in his semi-final against Malaysia’s Mohammad Fuad Redzuan.

He will take on local favourite Rogen Ladon in his final.

Elsewhere, it was a good day for Indonesia on the track at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium as they claimed the gold medals in both the men’s and women’s 4x100 metre relay events.

There was, however, disappointment for the hosts on the archery field as they could only claim silver and bronze in the compound and recurve mixed team events, respectively.

Singapore secured the men’s artistic pencak silat title thanks to their points total of 463.

Laos and India completed the podium line-up with 456 and 454 points, respectively.
