International Sports Broadcasting SL (ISB) have been chosen as the host broadcaster for the Minsk 2019 European Games.

The Spanish company were one of three candidates seeking the position, along with Medialuso-Mediapro from Portugal and Match TV in Russia.

Minsk 2019 deputy director Anatoly Kotov stated an agreement had been reached with ISB, following an assessment of each company's proposals.

Local television and radio companies in Belarus, the National Olympic Committee and Minsk 2019 were claimed to have been involved in the process.

It was claimed that price and experience were key areas, among a wide number of factors assessed.

"The decision is made," Kotov said.

"Now the management of the second European Games and ISB company are preparing a formal contract.

"This process is very painstaking and will take about two months."

Should the contract be finalised, ISB will reprise their role as host broadcaster after they were given the role for the inaugural European Games in Azerbaijan's capital city Baku back in 2015.

Minsk 2019 state attention was given to the reputation of companies, their marketing appeal, the possibility of further implementation of media rights, financial guarantees and legacy during their tender process.

It is hoped Belarusian specialists will work alongside ISB during the Games to boost their level of experience.

The Games are set to take place from June 22 to 30 next year.
