Aaron Wilson and Karen Murphy have been confirmed as Australia's representatives in the lawn bowls singles events at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The Australian team was announced last month, but the line-up for each lawn bowls event at the Games has now been confirmed.

Wilson is making his debut appearance at the multi-sport event, but has earned the nod from the selectors.

Reigning world champion Karen Murphy will compete in the women's singles event at her fifth Games, as she looks to secure the next Commonwealth Games gold of her career.

Murphy will also act as the skip in the women's pairs event, where she will be joined by Kelsey Cottrell.

The women's triples team will see Carla Krizanic, Natasha Scott and Rebecca Van Asch join forces, while Cottrell is added to the trio for the fours competition.

Wilson will join Brett Wilkie in the men's pairs discipline, while Barrie Lester, Nathan Rice and Aron Sherriff are selected for the triples.

Wilkie is set to join Lester, Rice and Sherriff to compete in the men's fours event.

In the visually impaired pairs competition, Lynne Seymour and Jake Fehlberg will team up.

The pair will be assisted by their directors Robert Seymour and Grant Fehlberg respectively.

Joshua Thornton, Tony Bonnell and Ken Hanson complete the Australian selection, with the athletes competing in the disability triples competition.

Bowls is a core sport of the Commonwealth Games, and has been included in the sporting programme since the inaugural Games in 1930, with the exception of 1966 in Kingston, Jamaica.

Australia's bowlers have won nine gold, 19 silver and ten bronze medals since 1930, with women not playing until 1982.

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games bowls event will be held over nine of the 11 days of competition, from April 5 to 13.
