The elected board members will serve for two years from January 1 to December 31, 2019.

The election was conducted online via an voting form, with candidates needing at least 67 votes to be elected.

Thomas Griesbaum from Germany, who has been involved in disc sports since 1981, has been elected as secretary of the board, a role he held in 2011, whilst Kate Bergeron of the United States also returns to a familiar position following her appointment as treasurer.

Bergeron, who has worked as a coach for several women's ultimate teams, held the role of treasurer from 2008 to 2012.

Canada's Brian Gisel, a board member since 2009, has been elected as chair of the Ultimate Committee, a role he held between 2004 and 2007.

Amadine Constant, an ultimate player in France since 2006 and current secretary general of the French Flying Disc Federation, has been elected as a director at large along with Caroline Malone, the President of the Ultimate Players Association of Qatar..

The new medical director of the board will be Jamie Nuwer of the US, who has been chair of the WFDF's Medical Anti‐Doping Committee since 2011.

Her compatriot Kevin Givens, a 14-time freestyle title winner, has been elected as chair of freestyle,

President Robert Rauch retains his position on the board along with disc golf chair Charlie Mead, beach ultimate committee chair Karen Cabrera, overall committee chair Tomas Burvall, guts committee chair Steve Taylor, director at large Fumio Morooka and athletes commission chair Ryan Purcell.

Following the results, Rauch said: "WFDF is fortunate to be able to rely on a board comprised of individuals with significant experience and varied expertise in order to respond to the opportunities and challenges we face as a fast‐growing international sports federation.

"We are pleased to have increased the number of women on the board to five out of the fourteen members.

"I would like to thank outgoing board member Michael Hu for his tremendous support during many years of service as a board member and in his ongoing work in Chinese Taipei and in the Asian region, and to also acknowledge outgoing Events Sub‐Committee chair Elizabeth Houthrow for her contributions during her tenure.

"We also thank Rena Kawabata and Wolfgang Maehr for their interest in supporting WFDF at the top governance level."

The next event on the WFDF calendar is the 2018 World U-24 Ultimate Championships, which will take place in Perth, Australia, from January 7 to 13.
