Women's ski jumping World Cup action is due to begin at the Hinterzarten ©FIS

Katharina Althaus will be leading the home charge when the second leg of the International Ski Federation Ski Jumping World Cup begins in Hinterzarten tomorrow.

The German star triumphed in the first leg in Lillehammer and will be seeking a repeat result in the fourth appearance of the resort on the World Cup calendar.

Action will begin with qualification tomorrow before the team competition on Saturday (December 16).

Individual action will then be held on Sunday (December 17).

United States' Sarah Hendrickson, Switzerland's Sabrina Windmueller of Switzerland and Japan's Sara Takanashi are expected to be other contenders.

Reigning Olympic champion Carina Vogt will also feature in a strong German team.

Men's World Cup action, meanwhile, will resume tomorrow at the Swiss resort of Engelberg.

Germany's Richard Freitag will be seeking a third World Cup win of the season.

Fellow countryman Andreas Wellinger will be another strong contender along with the likes of Norway's Daniel Andre Tande.

Qualification will take place tomorrow before finals over the weekend.
