South Korea will contest the mixed compound and recurve finals at the 2017 Asian Archery Championships in Dhaka.

Their compound team of So Chae-won and Kim Jong-ho were able to end the host nation’s challenge at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, as they beat Bangladesh 158-144.

The South Korean duo were then able to claim an 156-152 semi-final win against Kazakhstan to ensure themselves of a place in tomorrow’s gold medal match.

India will provide the opposition in the final, with Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Abhishek Verma having earned a narrow win in their last four tie.

The duo emerged as 154-153 victors against Chinese Taipei’s Chen Li Ju and Pan Yu Ping.

Choi Min-seon and Kim Jong-ho then prevailed in the mixed team recurve semi-finals for South Korea.

They emerged as 5-4 winners against Vietnam’s Loc Thi Dao and Chu Duc Anh.

Japan’s Kubara Chinatsu and Muto Hiroki secured a 5-1 win over Mongolia’s Miroslava Danzandorj and Gantugs Jantsan in the second semi-final.

The medal matches in both events will take place tomorrow, while individual competition will hot up as archers look to advance to the latter stages.

Men’s and women’s individual finals in both compound and recurve evens will take place on Wednesday (November 29).

Team finals will bring the Championships to a close on Thursday (November 30).

This year’s Asian Archery Championships are offering cadet quota places for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires.
