Pakistan have replaced New Zealand at the top of the International Cricket Council Twenty20 rankings after the governing body published their latest update.

It comes after New Zealand were beaten 2-1 in their recent Twenty20 series away in India.

Pakistan have 120 points, four more than New Zealand, who lost five as a result of the defeat to India.

New Zealand remain second on decimal points ahead of the West Indies.

Indian captain Virat Kohli has strengthened his lead at the summit of the Twenty20 batsmen rankings after he scored 104 runs in the series with New Zealand.

The home side wrapped up a narrow series win with a six-run victory in the last match in Thiruvananthapuram earlier this week.

Kohli's performance in the series, where he hit a best score of 65, helped him open up a 40-point lead on the rankings over nearest challenger Aaron Finch of Australia.

The Indian star has 824 points while Finch currently has a total of 784.

New Zealand opener Colin Munro is among the other major movers as he has jumped four places to 12th after hitting 123 runs in the series.

It included an unbeaten 109 in the second game in Rajkot, which his side won by 40 runs.

New Zealand's Ish Sodhi has moved into the top 10 of the bowling rankings for the first time in his career after he took five wickets in the three clashes with India.

The 25-year-old right-arm leg-spinner has jumped five places and now occupies 10th place on the list.
