Wales' Ben Llewellin triumphed in the men's skeet shooting final at the Oceania and Commonwealth Shooting Federations' Championships in Brisbane.

Llewellin headed to the tournament following his silver medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup Final, where he had equalled the world record, before losing a shoot-off.

He would continue his fine form at the revamped Belmont Shooting Complex, hitting 59 targets in the final.

It proved more than enough to clinch the Commonwealth title, with England's Jack Fairclough ending as the runner-up on 51.

The podium was rounded off by Australia's Paul Adams, who was eliminated having achieved 43 hits.

Adams was able to celebrate victory in the final of the Oceania event, managing to score 54 hits.

His team-mate Keith Ferguson and New Zealand's Michael Wilson secured the remaining medals, ending with 53 and 41 hits respectively.

India's Pooja Pandharinath Ghatkar claimed victory in the women's 10 metres air rifle competition.

She achieved a total of 249.8 points to win the Commonwealth gold, with team-mate Anjum Moudgil taking silver on 248.7.

Martina Veloso claimed the bronze, as the Singaporean shooter managed a total of 224.8 points.

Australia's Victoria Rossiter earned the Oceania title, having dominated the final.

She finished with an Oceanian record of 245, with her team-mate Emma Woodroofe taking the silver medal on 242.

An all-Australian podium was rounded off by Emma Adams, as she managed a score of 220.4.

The event is acting as a test event for the Belmont Shooting Complex, following upgrades being made to venue.

It comes as the complex prepares to be used for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games next April.
