Dutch pair Joy Stubbe and Madelein Meppelink beat Germany’s Kim Behrens and Sandra Ittlinger today to claim the women’s title in front of a home crowd at the International Volleyball Federation Beach World Tour Aalsmeer Open.

The top seeds registered a 21-18, 21-18 win at the Beach Indoor Center to complete an unbeaten campaign.

Victory secures Stubbe, 20, her first medal on the FIVB World Tour and two-Olympian Meppelink her second after winning the 2013 Corrientes Grand Slam in Argentina alongside Sophie van Gestel.

It also ensures Meppelink’s 11th podium finish.

The bronze medals went to the United States’ Betsi Flint and Kelley Larsen after they defeated Japan’s Miki Ishii and Megumi Murakami 25-23, 21-18.

This is the third medal for the Americans on the FIVB World Tour after winning gold in Chinese city Nanjing and Ulsan in South Korea earlier this year.
