The International Tennis Federation has published the Wheelchair Tennis Tour calendar for the first four months of 2018.

The updated calendar includes dates and tournament gradings for the events from January through to April.

The first four months of the tour feature the Australian Open Grand Slam, from January 24 to 27, and the Cajun Classic, which has been awarded Super Series status for the first time.

The Sydney Wheelchair Tennis Open, another Super Series event, is the first event of the year with action scheduled from January 9 to 13.

The inaugural Georgia Open, which has ITF 1 status, takes place in the United States in the week before the Cajun Classic between March 14 and 18.

Other ITF 1 status tournaments in the opening months of the season include the Melbourne Wheelchair Open between January 16 and 20 and the Amro World Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, due to take place in Rotterdam in The Netherlands from February 13 to 17.

In January, Japanese retailers UNIQLO extended and expanded their sponsorship of the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour for five years.

They are the title sponsor of the wheelchair tennis rankings, published on a weekly basis for men, women and quads players.

UNIQLO, sponsors of the tour since 2014, currently boast Japanese wheelchair tennis star Shingo Kunieda as a global brand ambassador.
