Swiss Olympic has unveiled the clothing that athletes will be wearing throughout the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

The uniform, supplied by Swiss sporting goods company Ochsner Sport, has been described as "stylish and technically refined".

The red and white colour combination, the letters "SUI" and the Swiss cross alongside the Olympic Rings are all key elements of the design.

It is claimed that those features "show the Swiss sports spirit and the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship".

Athletes will be given suitable clothing for all aspects of the Games.

This includes travelling to South Korea, the stay in the Olympic Village, competition time and medal ceremonies.

Garments have been specifically adapted to the South Korean winter conditions but also offer a "tasteful appearance", it has been claimed.

"I am already looking forward to representing Switzerland in these great outfits with my team," said Swiss ice hockey goaltender Florence Schelling.

"The clothes are extremely high quality and very comfortable to wear."

The Swiss public can now buy items of replica clothing from various Ochsner Sport stores across the country.

Switzerland finished seventh in the medals table at Sochi 2014.

They won 11 medals in total, including six golds, three silvers and two bronzes.
