Sweden claimed their fifth relay victory of the season to wrap up the overall title at the International Orienteering Federation World Cup final in the Swiss Alpine resort of Grindelwald.

The country's second team recorded the fastest time after their first-choice quartet were disqualified.

Helena Bergman, Martin Regborn, Oskar Sjöberg, Sara Hagstrom earned a narrow success for the Swedes in a time of 57min 48sec.

Norway's first team, comprised of Andrine Benjaminsen, Gaute Hallan Steiwer, Eskil Kinneberg, Ida Marie Næss Bjørgul, took home the silver medal after they completed the course in a combined 57:57.

Julia Gross, Daniel Hubmann, Fabian Hertner, Sarina Jenzer, Switzerland's second-choice team, did enough for third as they clocked 58:11.

The triumph for Sweden saw them top the overall standings on a total of 580 points, a huge margin of 150 in front of Switzerland.

Norway finished the season in third place with a score of 347, narrowly ousting Russia, who were forced to settle for fourth.

Their performance today saw them climb above Russia on the leaderboard.

Russia were unable to claim a podium place in the final relay race of the World Cup season as they could only manage fourth place.
