Chinese company ANTA Sports have been appointed as the official sports apparel partner for the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing, the fourth domestic partner signed up by organisers. 

Zhang Jiandong, executive vice-president of Beijing 2022 and Vice-Mayor of Beijing, revealed that ANTA will provide Beijing 2022 and the Chinese Olympic team with "sportswear containing typical Chinese elements to showcase China’s national image".

Beijing 2022 launched its marketing programme in February of this year, adding three previous top tier domestic partners - Bank of China, Air China and Yili Group are providing banking services, air travel and official dairy products.

ANTA is already the current supplier for the Chinese National Olympic team.

Rio 2016 basketball gold medalist Klay Thompson wears ANTA shoes in the National Basketball Association competitions.

ANTA has supplied the Chinese team for several years, including kitting the team for Rio 2016. 

Unlike the three previous domestic partnerships signed, ANTA did not sponsor the and 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Adidas had held that role during Beijing 2008. 

ANTA was established in 1994 and has its headquarters in Jinjiang in Fujian.

In 2009, ANTA acquired Italian sportswear Fila's China operations.

It now has 600 Fila retail stores in China and 7000 ANTA-branded shops.

ANTA also promised it would work to "help promote Winter sports development in China".

Chen Jining, Acting Mayor of Beijing and Executive President of Beijing 2022, Yang Shu'an, Vice-Minister of the General Administration of Sport and vice-president of Beijing 2022 and Lu Yong, Board chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and vice-president of Beijing 2022, attended the signing ceremony in the Capital Gymnasium.

Jiandong and Ding Shizhong, Board chairman and chief executive of ANTA signed the partnership document.
