Celski, who spent five months recovering from a potentially career-ending gash to his thigh in September 2009 before returning to claim bronze medals in the 1,500 metres and 5,000m relay at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, won four of the six individual races at the United States World Cup team trials at the Utah Olympic Oval.

It meant that Celski was the overall points leader at the qualifiers.

Finishing behind Celski was 22-year-old John-Henry Krueger, who won the 1,500m.

Celski and Krueger will be joined in the men's squad by former World Junior Championship silver medalist Thomas Hong, Ryan Pivirotto and Aaron Tran.

Reutter-Adamek is the most bemedalled of the female team members, having won 1,000m silver and 3,000m relay bronze at Vancouver 2010.

She also won a world gold over 1,500m at the following year's World Championships in Sheffield.

But it was 17-year-old Maame Biney who finished as the overall points leader in the women's events.

Kristen Santos is the fifth selected female skater alongside Kooreman and Reutter-Adamek.

"I was extremely encouraged by the way our athletes raced and handled the stress from this past weekend at qualifiers," said Anthony Barthell, the short track national team coach.

"Our team is filled with international race experience, including four that have reached the biggest stage and have had success.

"Those individuals will provide valuable insights to the rest of the team as we continue to build towards Pyeongchang."

The Utah Oval will also host the 2018 US Olympic Team Trials in short-track from December 15-17.

Skaters will be vying for a place at Pyeongchang 2018 in February.
