Lin Ea Cenholt and Christian Peter Lubeck are among home pairs closing in on gold at the at the test event for next year's World Sailing Championships in Aarhus.

The Danish enjoyed a second, third and fourth place finish today to move onto a leading haul of 30 points with just the medal race to come.

New Zealand's Gemma Jones and Jason Saunders remain close behind, on 33 points.

Another Danish pair, Anette Viborg and Mathias Borreskov, lies third on 52 points.

Denmark's Jena Hansen and Katja Salskov-Iversen virtually guaranteed themselves gold with another stellar day of performances in the 49erFX class.

They enjoyed a race win and two second places today to move onto a total of 32 points.

Norwegian twin sisters Ragna and Maia Agerup lie a distant second with 61 points.

Americans Stephanie Roble and Margaret Shea and Australians Tess Lloyd and Eliza Solly each lie a further six points ack.

There were no races today in either the laser or laser radial classes.

Dutch Olympic champion Marit Bouwmeester leads on 11 points in the laser radial and Australian Matthew Wearn lies one point clear of Olympic gold medal winning team-mate Tom Burton in the laser.

Although it is  a test event, the competition is not taking place at the venue due to hold the World Championships next year.

Action is being held on the Egå Marina, just outside the city of Aarhus.
