The Irish boxer will now face Azize Nimani in the gold medal bout, with the German fighter having secured a 5-0 victory over Delphine Mancini of France.

The light-heavyweight competition also saw its finalists decided, with Turkey’s Elif Guneri earning a unanimous victory over home fighter Martina Labarbera.

Guneri will take on Eleni Michelekaki for gold, with the German boxer having been awarded a bye through to the final of the three woman competition.

There was a similar story in the women’s super heavyweight event, as Italy’s Anna Ghilardi was beaten unanimously by Sylwia Kusiak in the semi-final stage of the competition.

The Polish boxer will face Turkey’s Demir Sennur for gold, with her opponent having enjoyed a bye.

Italy will have hope in the flyweight event, as Roberta Mostarda secured a 5-0 victory over Diana Loichinger in her quarter-final bout.

She will now face Lise Sandebjer in the semi-final, after the Swedish boxer won unanimously against Krisztina Beri of Hungary.

Turkey’s Busenaz Cakiroglu earned a split decision 4-1 win over Wassila Lkhadiri of France to reach the second semi-final, where she will face Gabriela Dimitrova of Bulgaria.

Dimitrova beat England’s Lisa Whiteside 4-0 in their quarter-final tie.

Italy’s Alessia Mesiano and Mona Mestiaen of France will meet in the featherweight division semi-finals after they earned 4-1 victories over Bulgaria’s Stanimira Petrova and England’s Ellie Scotney respectively.

Croatia’s Sara Beram beat Sweden’s Sophia Smith 3-0 in their quarter-final tie, with two judges scoring the contest as a tie.

Beram’s reward is a contest with Germany’s Ornella Wahner, who beat Ireland’s Dervla Duffy 5-0.
