The decision to take the event to the Nova Scotia city was jointly announced by the World Curling Federation (WCF) and Curling Canada.

Ten men's and 10 women's teams will take part between February 17 and 24 at the Queens Place Emera Centre.

Canada will be hosting the Championships for the first time since 2009 when it was held in Vancouver.

On that occasion, the action served as a test event for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Nova Scotia also hosted the 2015 World Men's Championships in capital Halifax.

"With this announcement, we continue to grow stronger ties with Canada, who have time and time again hosted first class World Curling Championships," said WCF President Kate Caithness. 

"It is also exciting to work with a new Organising Committee who are full of enthusiasm for this event."

The 2014 Canadian Junior Men's and Women's Championships were played in Liverpool.

The venue boasts 1,050 seats and five curling sheets will be installed in time for 2019.

"We're extremely excited to see the World Junior Curling Championships returning to Canada," said Peter Inch, chair of Curling Canada's Board of Governors. 

"We're also grateful to the World Curling Federation for this opportunity, and its faith in the Liverpool Host Committee. 

"We've seen this group do a wonderful job in the past, and I'm confident that Liverpool will be ready to welcome the world in 2019."
