France’s Anthony Terras and Lucie Anastassiou claimed the mixed team skeet title on the penultimate day of action at the European Shooting Championships in Baku.

The duo beat Cyprus’ Dimitris Konstantinou and Andri Eleftheriou 28-27 in the gold medal match at the Olympic Shooting Range in Azerbaijan’s capital city.

In the bronze medal match, Italy’s Gabriele Rossetti and Diana Bacosi defeated home favourites Fuad Gurbanov and Rigina Meftakhetdinova 28-24.

Medals were also won today in the men’s 50 metres running target event as Jesper Nyberg led a Swedish one-two ahead of Emil Martinsson.

Nyberg registered a total of 591 points to beat his compatriot by a margin of two.

A shoot-off was needed to determine the bronze medallist after Czech Republic’s Bedrich Jonas and Russia’s Mikhail Azarenko finished on 586 points.

Both scored 20 points in the first round, but the second round saw Jonas secure third place with two 10s to Azarenko’s 10 and a nine.

The team competition was also won by Sweden with a total of 1,762 points.

Rickard Johansson joined Nyberg and Martinsson in making up the winning trio.

Russia and Finland both finished on 1,745 points, but it was the former that took silver by virtue of having more inner 10s - 68 to 66.

In the men’s junior 50m running target event, Ukraine’s Ihor Kizyma came out on top with 582 points.

Russia’s Valerii Davydov finished second with 579 points, while Kizyma’s fellow countryman Maksym Babushok came third with 576.

Ukraine won the two-nation team competition with 1,722 points.

Joining Kizyma and Babushok in contributing to the victory was Roman Tovstopiat.

Russia were the runners-up with 1,681 points.
