More than 40 experts took part in the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) race organisers and track managers meeting in St Leonhard in Austria.

The meeting was designed to allow discussions and the exchange of expertise between those in attendance, as they build towards the new season.

A total of 10 nations were represented at the annual event, including officials from the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics.

"2016-2017 was an incredible season for us and all the worldwide IBSF events would not be possible without the excellent work of the organisers behind," said IBSF secretary general Heike Größwang, who led the meeting.

"We are all looking forward to cooperating for another successful season with the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang 2018 as the final highlight."

Größwang thanked organisers for their efforts last season, reserving particular praise for the IBSF World Championship organisers and the German Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation.

The Championships took place in Königssee, less than two months after the event was stripped from Sochi because of the Russian doping crisis.

A focus was also placed on the IBSF overall race calendar and new developments in the rules.

Future communications and marketing activities were also assessed.

Stefan Krause of Infront Austria, the marketing and media partner of the IBSF, presented last season’s media results.

He also outlined the first successful outcomes of a newly implemented marketing concept.

Representatives from official time keeper Omega and the International Luge Federation were also present at the meeting.
