It will be the third edition of the event and is due to be held from July 7 to 9 at Museum Square in Dutch capital Amsterdam, venue for the 2019 3x3 World Cup.

Serbia, who secured a third world title in four years in Nantes last month, were beaten European finalists last year.

They will contest Group A against Spain and Hungary.

The Serbs have been dealt a blow in the build-up to the event with key player Marko Zdero suffering an ankle injury in practice, ruling him out of the tournament.

Slovenia emerged victorious in Bucharest 12 months ago and will begin the defence of their title in Group B alongside Latvia and the Czech Republic.

Pool C will feature World Cup 2017 bronze medallists France, Russia and Switzerland.

The hosts and World Cup silver medallists, The Netherlands, will headline Pool D against World Cup quarter-finalists Ukraine and a young Turkish team.

Hungary are the reigning champions in the women's competition and they face a repeat of last year's final in the pool stages.

They defeated Romania 21-14 to win gold in Bucharest in 2016 and the two teams will continue their rivalry alongside Switzerland in Group A. 

Second seeds Russia find themselves in Group B alongside Spain and Slovakia while the Czech Republic, Italy and Serbia will contest Group C.

France take on The Netherlands, and Ireland in Group D.

Group stage action is due to begin tomorrow and conclude on Saturday (July 8).

The quarter-finals, semi-finals and medal matches will then bring the competition to a close on Sunday (July 9).

This is the first major European 3x3 tournament since the sport became an Olympic event.

It was confirmed in June by the International Olympic Committee that 3x3 will make its Games debut at Tokyo 2020.
