Cuba rounded off the AMBC American Confederation Boxing Championships with another four gold medals on the final day of competition in Tegucigalpa.

The country, who have an impressive record in the sport at the Olympic Games and World Championships, were the dominant nation at the Coliseum Nacional de Ingenieros in the Honduran capital.

Yosvany Veití, a double World Championships medallist, clinched the flyweight title as he swept aside Colombian opponent Ceiber Avila by unanimous decision.

The success continued for Cuba when Andy Cruz made light work of Elvis Rodriguez of the Dominican Republic in the final of the light welterweight division.

Cruz, who won the gold medal in the category at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, proved too strong for Rodriguez and claimed a comprehensive unanimous win.

Olympic bronze medallist Erislandy Savón then made it a hat-trick of gold medals for the Cuban team in the last bout of the afternoon session as he beat Yamil Peralta of Argentina in the heavyweight division.

Savón, the reigning Pan American Games champion, was pushed all the way by his Argentinian rival and eventually prevailed by split decision.

Three of the five judges awarded the contest to the Cuban, with the other two favouring Peralta.

Cuba might have swept the titles on offer in the afternoon but they endured a more difficult evening session as reigning light flyweight world champion and Olympic bronze medallist Joahnys Argilagos was beaten by Colombia's Yuberjen Martinez.

The Colombian, a silver medallist at last year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, sealed the American Confederation crown in style, cruising to a 5-0 success against his Cuban opponent.

Jose Larduet completed the Cuban haul as he took the super heavyweight title with a unanimous points victory over Cristian Salcedo of Colombia.

Leonel de los Santos of the Dominican Republic won the bantamweight gold medal by walkover against Javier Ibanez of Cuba.
