Faivre was part of the team representing France that won gold in the nations team event at the International Ski Federation (FIS) World Alpine Skiing Championships in St Moritz in February.

The French team of Tessa Worley, Faivre, Alexis Pinturault, Julien Lizeroux, Nastasia Noens and Adeline Baud Mugnier triumphed in the discipline which is due to make its debut on the Olympic programme at next year's Games in Pyeongchang.

However, Faivre has claimed his ambitions for next season are not solely based on the Winter Olympics in South Korea as he aims to piece together an entirely consistent season.

"My goal is to keep progressing, as I did in the last seasons," said Faivre.

"I didn’t plan to reach my peak performance in February for the Olympics, but I want to be competitive and in a consistent good shape over the whole season."

But the Frenchman did express his excitement at the mixed team event making its Olympic debut next year.

"Yes, I like the format a lot, it’s something else than the traditional disciplines," added Faivre.

"Of course, as the alpine team event will be Olympic for the first time, we also integrated this in our training plans and we plan to have a strong team at the start."

Faivre competed at Sochi 2014 in the men's giant slalom event, finishing in 24th place.

He enjoyed his best FIS World Cup season last year, finishing second overall in the giant slalom discipline.

The 25-year-old also won the first World Cup race of his career after topping the podium on home snow at Val d'Isère in December.
