A dedicated website has been set up by the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) to show what they are doing as preparations for Pyeongchang 2018 continue.

The site, which can be found here, was officially launched on Thursday and includes a countdown clock for the next Winter Olympics.

Other sections include profiles of their athletes who will be looking to win medals at the South Korean resort between February 9 and 25 next year.

Updates will also be provided by CONI officials on how the team are doing and what is happening around Pyeongchang on the website.

At the last Winter Olympics in 2014 at the Russian resort of Sochi, Italy failed to win any gold medals, the first time since Lake Placid 1980 that this had happened to them.

They did come home with eight medals, two silvers and six bronze.

Alpine skier Christof Innerhofer came the closest to winning gold as he finished just 0.06sec behind Austria’s Matthias Mayer in the men’s downhill.

Innerhofer went onto claim bronze in the men’s combined event five days later.
