Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei is aiming to win successive titles at this week's Badminton World Federation (BWF) Singapore Open Super Series tournament, which gets underway at the Indoor Stadium tomorrow.

The world number one came from a game down to beat Spain's Rio 2016 Olympic champion Carolina Marin 23-25, 22-20, 21-13 in the final of the Malaysia Super Series yesterday.

Tai will be hoping to continue her momentum in Singapore as she faces Nitchaon Jindapol of Thailand in round one.

Yesterday's defeat was Marin's second consecutive loss in a final after she was also beaten in the India Super Series title decider by P.V Sindhu earlier this month.

The Spaniard, seeded fourth in Singapore, will play Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand in the first round while India's Rio 2016 silver medallist Sindhu will take on Japan's Nozomi Okuhara.

Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon, the reigning champion, is set to meet Sayaka Soto of Japan in her first match of the tournament.

In the men's singles draw, defending champion Sony Dwi Kuncoro of Indonesia is unseeded and faces Lee Dong Keun of South Korea in his first round match.

Denmark's Viktor Axelsen, seeded third, leads a strong Danish trio and will come up against Hong Kong's Wong Wing Ki Vincent in round one.

Axelsen's compatriot Emil Holst faces Sai Praneeth B. of India in his first match while the third Dane in the main draw, Hans-Kristian Vittinghus, is set to open his account with a match against China's Bin Qiao.

There is another former Indonesian winner of this tournament in the men's singles event with Tommy Sugiarto, the 2013 champion, set to compete.

He will play Angus Ng Ka Long of Hong Kong in round one.

Denmark's Jan Ø. Jørgensen and China's Olympic champion Chen Long, who were due to start as the number one and two seeds respectively, have both withdrawn.

Action is due to begin tomorrow with the tournament running until Sunday (April 16).
