Alena Zavarzina of Russia and Bulgaria's Radoslav Yankov wrapped up the women's and men's parallel giant slalom crystal globes at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard World Cup in Kayseri.

Zavarzina, Olympic bronze medallist at Sochi 2014, secured her first-ever overall World Cup crown by reaching the quarter-finals of the season-ending race in the Turkish city.

Ester Ledecká of the Czech Republic won today's event as she beat Japan's Tomoka Takeuchi in the big final.

Ramona Hofmeister of Germany emerged triumphant in the small final as she prevailed over Austria's Daniela Ulbing.

Zavarzina admitted she was affected by the event's rescheduling as the finals were due to be held yesterday but were postponed due to heavy fog causing visibility issues.

"The delay yesterday and re-scheduling of the race was very stressful for me as I was going for the crystal globe and didn't have much of an advantage [on Patrizia Kummer]," the Russian said.

"This waiting situation was nerve-wracking.

"It was like the worst day of my life.

"I tried to make the best of the situation but almost puked this morning after breakfast.

"But I kept going."

She added: "It was dramatic, I was hoping to finish on the podium in the last race.

"I was waiting for this moment, and of course I'm happy and very proud.

"It was my goal ever since I started my career and it definitely took away the stress prior to the World Championships."

Yankov was able to seal the men's parallel giant slalom title despite enduring a difficult outing on the slopes today as he finished down in 17th place.

His display did prove costly, however, as he lost his lead in the race for the overall Parallel World Cup crown to Andreas Prommegger of Austria, who claimed victory today.

The Austrian athlete beat Sang-ho Lee of South Korea in the big final, while Sang's team-mate Bo-gun Choi ousted compatriot Kim Sang-kyum in the small final to earn the country's first-ever Alpine Snowboard World Cup medals.

Prommegger tops the standings on 4,350 points but Yankov, the defending champion, is hot on his heels with 3,950 points.
