Australia endured mixed fortunes today at the International Ski Federation Aerials World Cup today in Moscow as Lydia Lassila claimed victory but Danielle Scott was denied the overall crown.

Lassila's score of 100.11 saw her narrowly edge out China's Xu Mengtao, who finished second with a score of 94.11.

Her team-mate Scott had led Xu by just four points in the overall stakes heading into today's competition.

But, with Scott finishing fifth today, Xu moved 33 points clear in the overall stakes.

Scott had to settle for second place overall while 35-year-old mother-of-two Lassila finished third after triumphing in three of the last four legs.
