Katherine Rednall beat defending champion Ellen Falkner to comfortably win her second women's singles title at the World Indoor Bowls Championships in England today.

The 21-year-old, who became the youngest ever winner of the event in 2014, always appeared stronger in the all-English duel.

She won the first set 10-5 at the Potters Leisure Resort in Norfolk before ruthlessly pressing home advantage in the second.

She eventually secured a 10-6 victory.

"Coming back here each year is an absolute pleasure," Rednall told the BBC afterwards.

"It was an incredible game and it was what you hope for from a final."

Scotland's David Gourlay ended the run of United States' Neil Furman elsewhere in the second round of the open singles.

He triumphed 9-5, 13-4.

Scotland's 12-time World Indoor champion Alex Marshall also crashed-out in a 6-4, 8-6 defeat to Les Gillett of England.
