Ellen Falkner is one win away from a fourth women’s singles crown at the World Indoor Bowls Championships in England after beating Janice Gower in the semi-finals today.

Falkner battled hard before triumphing 6-5, 8-7 in the all-English clash at the Potters Leisure Resort in Norfolk.

“Janice played really well," she said afterwards.

"I thought the standard of the game was pretty good all the way through and I’m just delighted to get the win.”

She win now face the winner of another home pair in either Amy Stanton or Katherine Rednall.

Scotland's Stewart Anderson beat Irish opponent Graham McKee 11-4, 12-2 elsewhere today to reach the open singles quarter-finals.

England's Nick Brett also fought back from losing the first set to beat Scotland's Charles Bence, 5-7, 10-4, 2-1.
