Daedo International and the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) have signed a four-year agreement to continue their partnership through the next Olympic cycle.

Sakis Paragalos, the ETU President, claimed they were "delighted and proud" to cooperate with Daedo in the future.

The company are considered one of the leading taekwondo equipment suppliers, with their gear including World Taekwondo Federation recognised protective clothing, uniforms and kicking targets for training.

Daedo also sponsor the Cypriot, Canadian, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, German and Spanish national Taekwondo Federations.

The supplier, whose headquarters are based in Barcelona, have been making taekwondo products since 1983 and four years later became the official sponsor and supplier at the World Taekwondo Championships.

They then became the official supplier of the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games, and have continued to boost major taekwondo competitions, including developing a protector and scoring system to boost fair play in the sport.

The ETU said they had provided Daedo with access to its European events during their relationship to date, with the company’s Protector Scoring System (PSS) strengthening those competitions.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Daedo will continue to provide the PSS and E-headgear (GEN2) to all ETU events.

They will support Organising Committees by offering a special rent fee for renting the PSS, with a discounted price also offered in the event they wish to purchase instead of renting.

The ETU have strongly recommended all G-ranked recognised Open Championships use Daedo’s technology.

Daedo were a gold sponsor of the European Taekwondo Union’s (ETU) 40-years Anniversary Gala, which took place in September.

The event took place in Bucharest, Romania, during the European Cadet Championships.
