The US will now go on to face Russia, winners of Group A, in the last eight tomorrow.

Also progressing through to the last eight today was Spain, who registered a 14-7 win over Australia.

Alejandra Aznar was key to Spain’s success, scoring seven goals, including four in the second quarter to go with her two from the first period.

Awaiting Spain in the quarter-finals are Greece, who ensured their place at the top of Group C yesterday ahead of the US.
