All six Olympic medallists in singles will be in action at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) China Open Superseries, which will begin at the Haixia Olympic Sports Center in Fuzhou tomorrow.

Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei, a triple Olympic silver medallist, is the top seed in the men's draw after winning the prestigious tournament last season.

The 34-year-old is on a collision course with his Rio 2016 nemesis Chen Long, who beat him to Olympic gold in Brazil in August and is seeded second.

China's Chen won the tournament in 2010, 2012 and 2013 and will be looking for a fourth title on home soil.

Lee will begin his campaign against a qualifier while Chen will clash with Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto in his first round clash.

Denmark's Viktor Axelsen, the Rio 2016 bronze medallist, is seeded third in Fuzhou with the European champion due to begin against a qualifier.

His compatriot Jan Ø. Jørgensen, seeded fourth, faces a first round tie with former world junior silver medallist Wang Tzu-wei of Chinese Taipei.

In the women's competition, Spain's Olympic champion Carolina Marín is the top seed and will open against a qualifier.

India's P. V. Sindhu, who Marín beat in the Rio 2016 final, is ranked seventh and will play Chinese Taipei's Lee Chia-hsin.

Rio 2016 bronze medallist Nozomi Okuhara of Japan, seeded third, has been handed a round one clash against Hong Kong's Yip Pui Yin, while Thailand's second seed Ratchanok Intanon will be bidding for a fourth Superseries title of the year.

The 2013 world champion has already won in India, Singapore and Malaysia this year but suffered a disappointing exit in the last-16 in Rio.

In an interesting twist her first round match is against the player who ended her Olympic hopes, Japan's Akane Yamaguchi.

Competition will continue until November 20, with men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles all part of the programme.
