The current members of the Commission, which was established in March 2013, are "Skip" Ann Swisshelm from the US, "Vice Skip" Cathrine Lindahl from Sweden and Kelly Scott from Canada.

Norway's Bent Ånund Ramsfjell, the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic gold medallist, is the WCF Board liaison.

The new elected members will take the Athlete Commission membership up to seven.

Voting is now open with details sent to eligible athlete voters, with a closing date of October 18.

The Athlete Commission serves as an independent and a consultative body, and acts as a link between high performance athletes, the WCF Board, the WCF Competition and Rules Commission and the International Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission.

The primary goal of the WCF Athlete Commission is to "communicate the interests of the athletes in cooperative support of the WCF achieving its mission".
