Two training camps for Nordic sports have been held by the International Ski Federation (FIS).

Athletes from 12 different countries took part in the camps - which covered both ski jumping and Nordic Combined.

They were held for nine days in Val di Fiemme in Italy and Stams in Austria, with the countries involved emerging nations in the sports.

Delegations came from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine.

The programme at the events - called FIS Development Programme Nordic Summer Training Camps - included twice-daily training sessions of jumping and technical exercises for ski jumping.

Cross-country skiing - the discipline that makes up Nordic Combined along with ski jumping - was also covered.

In addition there was "dry" training including mountain biking, swimming, hiking and other activities.

Both Val die Fiemme and Stams are major winter resorts so "extensive" facilities were on offer for the athletes.

"Overall, the FIS Development Programme Nordic Training Camp provides an excellent opportunity for athletes to participate in structured and professional training sessions," an FIS statement said.

The final camp of the summer will now take place in Rasnov in Romania between September 26 and October 1.

Ski jumping and Nordic Combined will again be the focus.
