A new website has been launched by the International Judo Federation (IJF) following the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in a bid to "bring all judokas together".

The site has undergone a redesign, which the sport’s worldwide governing body hopes will “optimise the flow of information while enhancing contact among all our stakeholders”.

It will be available for the entire judo community to use, including athletes, sponsors, coaches, referees, former athletes, fans and media.

“With a new, fresh design and dynamic, diversified content, the goal is to bring all judokas together on this platform,” IJF President Marius Vizer said.

“This way, development and knowledge can reach all parts of the world.

“Too, the website will promote our activities and our Member Federations.

“Also, the site will be the place to help those who may be interested in but are less familiar with judo: a landing spot to get the basics and even more useful information about our sport.”

The new website, which is available here, features a front page with links to the latest news within the IJF, as well as athlete profiles and upcoming events and competitions.

It also contains a medal table from all of the IJF’s tournaments which have been held so far this year, such as Judo Grand Prix and Judo Grand Slams.

A message from President Vizer, a countdown calendar to the next international event and a picture gallery can also be viewed on the homepage, along with links to various IJF accounts across media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

“We invite all those interested to register and use the website, hoping that, what you find, will be useful and the new look will not only meet but exceed expectations,” the IJF said.
