Team USA Bobsled & Skeleton (USABS) has announced a partnership with Discount Two-Way Radio, which will provide top-of-the-line radio equipment for coaches and staff.

USABS athletes compete in all conditions on roughly mile-long tracks around the world, meaning effective communication between coaches, staff and athletes is crucial during practices and races in order to achieve success.

"One of the most important components to success in bobsled and skeleton is for coaches to have the ability to communicate effectively at the track in training and in races so that we can provide feedback to our athletes and maximise their potential to represent Team USA on the podium," bobsleigh coach Mike Kohn said.

"Discount Two-Way Radio is going to be a game-changer for USABS staff and coaches, but more importantly for our athletes."

USABS will be looking to improve upon last season's unprecedented 92 medals in international competition.

"As an RCA award-winning distributor known for our superior technical and sales expertise, Discount Two Way Radio proudly offers our line of durable and reliable RCA radio products and accessories with faster service and better prices than our competitors," the company said in a statement.

"We carry the most dependable radios available with long life batteries and superior volume."

The news follows Jamie Greubel Poser's Bobsled Athlete of the Year award at the governing body's annual banquet.

Held at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Centre, the ceremony was aimed at acknowledging the achievements of athletes throughout the 2015 to 2016 season, as well as bringing their latest training camp to a close.

Greubel Poser received her award after the most successful season of her career, with the 32-year-old having finished on the podium in six of the eight two-woman World Cup races throughout the season.

The Sochi 2014 bronze medallist earned two race victories, alongside her team-mate Cherrelle Garrett, with the duo ending second in the overall standings.
