Women's top seed Hsu Ya-ching was knocked-out in the semi-finals as the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Vietnam Open continued in Ho Chi Minh City today.

The Chinese Taipei player was beaten by Japan's Ayumi Mine, who came through in three games, 21-16, 8-21, 21-12.

Hsu's exit means that the final will be an all-unseeded affair, with Singapore's Yeo Jia Min joining Mine in the final.

She ended the hopes of Malaysian qualifier Soniia Cheah Su Ya with a 21-17, 21-12 success.

In the men's tournament at the Nguyen Du Stadium, Commonwealth Games gold medallist Chong Wei Feng came through his last four tie to book his place in the final.

Chong, who was a member of his country's line-up which won the mixed team title at Glasgow 2014, saw off Indonesia's Firman Abdul Kholik 21-19, 21-15.

The number 11 seed will now meet fourth seed Wong Wing Ki of Hong Kong for the title.

Ki proved to be too strong for Lin Yu-hsien of Chinese Taipei, triumphing 21-11, 21-17.

The BWF Grand Prix Gold event is devoid of any major star names with the Rio 2016 Olympic Games looming large next month.

Both finals will be played tomorrow alongside the conclusion to the doubles competitions.
