Brandon Dyksterhouse has resigned as head coach of the women's Alpine techincal team, the US Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) has announced.

Dyksterhouse joined the programme as interim technical head coach prior to the 2015 World Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek.

He then took over the head coach role permanently during the 2015-2016 season, leading the team to success on the International Ski Federation World Cup circuit.

He oversaw five consecutive victories by Olympic slalom champion Mikaela Shiffrin during the campaign.

“Although I will be moving on, USSA and ski racing will always be a treasured part of my life,” Dyksterhouse said.

“I look forward to resuming my role of virtual #SuperFan as the team tackles St Mortitz 2017 and Pyeongchang 2018.

"Thank you for an amazing two years and I wish everyone the best of success in the future.“

Dyksterhouse received the International Coach of the Year award for his work with the women's FIS World Cup team at the USSA annual chairman's awards dinner in May.

A replacement will now be sought.

Alpine director Patrick Riml said: "Brandon has done an outstanding job with Mikaela and the women’s tech team the last two seasons.

"This was Brandon’s choice and we respect that.

"We have some opportunities for replacement and want to have a plan in place for our New Zealand camp later this month.”
