Hungary won three more gold medals as age group action continued today at the European Canoe Marathon Championships in Pontevedra, while Portugal were the other nation to claim victory.

Portugal's Ricardo Coelho and Duarte Silva produced a superb performance to claim a 13 second victory in the men's junior C2 event in 1min 29.10sec.

Arved Heine and Jonas Mode finished in second place for Germany after losing touch in the final stages.

Polish duo Patryk Piotrowics and Mateusz Cybula crossed the line third out of the eight finishes in 1:30.00.

Elsewhere, however, it was Hungarian domination on the Spanish lake with three victories to follow their domination yesterday.

Fruzsina Viktoria Nagy and Zsofi Korsos took a 15 second victory in the women's K2 junior event ahead of Belgium rivals Roos Broelz and Hanna Plas.

The Hungarian duo won in 1:27.03 as Cathrine Rask and Line Langellund of Denmark took bronze.

Team-mates Istvan Lukacx and Akos Obert claimed victory in the corresponding men's event, beating Francisco Capin and David Migoya of Spain in 1:33.34.

Luis Ferreira and Nuno Cruz secured a Portuguese bronze.

Balarz Dori Bence then won the men's under 23 C1 event.

He beat Polish duo Patryk Gluza and Mateusz Borgiel to cross the line first in 1:51.48. 

Senior events will begin tomorrow and take place over the weekend.
