The Czech men's national ice hockey team is one of the most successful of its kind in the world.

Having won the gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics Games in Nagano, the Czechs went on to claim bronze in Turin eight years later.

Three of their six IIHF World Championship titles came in consecutive years from 1999 to 2001.

The Czech women's national ice hockey team is currently ranked ninth in the world, but has never qualified for an Olympic tournament.
