Uzbekistan's Asian Games champion Bekzod Abdurakhmonov was among those to secure a Rio 2016 Olympic spot with victory on a day of men's freestyle action at the United World Wrestling (UWW) World Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Istanbul.

Abdurakhmonov, an under 74 kilograms fighter who also won bronze at the 2014 World Championships in Tashkent, beat Spanish opponent Taimuraz Friev Naskidaeva - who also qualified - in his final.

Krystian Brzozowski of Poland and Amirkhan Visalimov of Austria took the two bronze medals.

Fighters from six different countries claimed gold today with the top two booking their Olympic spots.

Bulgaria's Stefanov Novachov claimed under 65kg honours, beating Canadian Haislan Anonio Veranes Garcia by injury default as United States' Frank Aniello Molinaro and Belarus' Azamat Nurykau shared bronze.

Bi Shenfeng took under 86kg victory over Asian rival Kim Gwanuk of South Korea, 7-1.

Armands Zvirbulis of Latvia and Piotr Ianulov of Moldova each took bronze.

Russian-born Albert Saritov, fighting for Romania, took gold in the under 97kg class.

He beat Mongolia's Khuderbulga Dorjkhand in the final as Belarus' Ivan Yankouski and Tajikistan's Rustan Iskandari won bronze.

Suleyman Atli of Turkey took the under 57kg crown over Uzbekistan's Abbon Rakhonov, 18-12.

Muhammad Bilal of Pakistan and Poland's Krzysztof Bienkowski took the final two podium positions.

Oleksandr Khotsianivskyi of Ukraine beat Idrahim Saidau of Belarus 4-0 in the under 125kg class as India's Hitender Hitender and Romania's Rares Daniel Chintoan took bronze.
