The deal follows an agreement with TAFE Queensland, who signed on as a Gold Coast 2018 Official Training Partner to deliver practical training to thousands of volunteers last month.

Gold Coast 2018 chairman Nigel Chamier said he was delighted to welcome SEEK to the list of sponsors for the Commonwealth Games, which run from April 4 to 15.

“To bring the event to life we require a large number of employees and volunteers and this requires sophisticated technology solutions to manage such large volumes of enquiries and applications," he said.

“As the largest employment marketplace in Australia we look forward to working with SEEK to support the recruitment of employees and volunteers, which bring the Commonwealth Games to life.”

SEEK co-founder and chief executive Andrew Bassat claimed the agreement is in line with the working policies of the recruitment company.

“For many people, to work or volunteer at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast will be a once in a lifetime experience," he said.

“To be able to provide this opportunity to people is something we’re proud of and aligns to our purpose of helping more people live a fulfilling and productive working life.”
