A Queensland company that specialises in the provision of software solutions for major world events will be the Official Accommodation and Transfers Software Supplier for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, it was announced today.

Centium Software, which was involved in software delivery for arrivals, departures and protocol at the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and New Delhi, will once again provide software to support accommodation and transfers to and from official points of entry.

The firm, which develops technology to streamline and help improve hospitality management, also worked on the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London and last year's Pan American Games in Toronto. 

The firm will provide an interactive and flexible reservation system to Gold Coast 2018  involving the management of detailed accommodation property information and online bookings and payment.

Centium Software is based in Technology Park at Eight Mile Plains in Brisbane and will use local resources to deliver the majority of its services.

Queensland's Commonwealth Games Minister Stirling Hinchliffe welcomed the sponsorship announcement.

“Centium has a wealth of experience working on the delivery of software for major sporting events and they have been involved in the last three Commonwealth Games,” he said.

Hinchliffe added: "I am confident they will draw on this experience, honed across so many previous Games and world events, to help Queensland successfully deliver the country’s biggest multi-sport spectacular this decade.

“The Queensland company has a strong reputation for successfully partnering with Games organisers to provide software solutions for some of the world’s biggest sporting events, including the 2012 London Olympic Games and 2010 Commonwealth Games.

“The firm has also been involved in the provision of services to four Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings, the G20 Summits of 2006 and 2014, the APEC Summit of 2007 and the 2002 United Nations World Summit.”

Centium Software chief executive Trevor Gardiner claimed to be thrilled to be working on a such a major event so close to the firm's headquarters.
