This season's Ski Cross World Cup will reach its conclusion in Arosa in Switzerland on March 4 after a replacement for the postponed event in Tegernsee in Germany could not be found.

The race in Tegernsee was due to take place last weekend but was cancelled by the International Ski Federation due to the lack of snow at the resort.

The Arosa event itself is a modified one, having been moved from it’s original date earlier in the season and recast as a sprint event that will consist of a course with a shortened run length and a higher concentration of features than would be found on a typical ski cross course.

The Arosa sprint will be the first of its kind on the ski cross World Cup and the new format will give organisers and officials a new set of options for dealing with unfavourable weather and snow conditions should they arise in the future.

Many of the sport's top competitors are currently travelling to Bokwang Phoenix Park in South Korea where on Saturday and Sunday (February 27 and 28) they are due to take part in the the World Cup event that will double as a test event for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

With just Bokwang and Arosa due to take place, France's Jean Frederic Chapuis leads the men's overall rankings and Sweden's Anna Holmlund the women's.
