The 2014 Asian Games gold medallist was aiming to add to Iran’s five titles from the opening three days of competition at the Bangkok Youth Center and he produced a series of strong performances to reach the final.

He then secured a victory by fall over Magomed Musaev to consign the Kyrgyzstani to the silver medal for the fourth consecutive year.

Kazakhstan’s Bakdaulet Almentay emerged as a 5-2 victory over Japan’s Koki Yamamoto at the end of their bronze medal bout and Mongolia’s Dorjkhkhand Khuderbulga won via a technical fall against Uzbekistan’s Sukhtobjan Mukaramov to secure his place on the podium.

Tournament debutant Meysam Nasiri delivered further success for Iran as he dominated his 65kg final against Kazakhstan’s Nurlan Bekzhanov, winning contest 9-0.

China’s Ma Cuniun was produced a similarly commanding display against Iraq’s Mohammad Waheeb Shihab AL Dhahabi, as he was able to stop the contest by moving into a 10-0 lead over his rival to win the bronze medal. 

The final bronze medal in the division was awarded to Batchuluun Batmagnai, the Mongolian beating Japan’s Masakazu Kamoi by fall.

Iran’s third title of the day came by default, after Kazakhstan’s Zhiger Zakirov was unable to compete against Mostafa Hosseinkhani in the 74kg final due to an injury.

The bronze bouts proved to be vastly different affairs with Kyrgyzstan’s Saiakbai Usupov defeating Mongolia’s Dorjvanchig Gombodorj by a narrow 2-1 margin.

By contrast, Turkmenistan’s Azamat Sufiev was granted a victory by fall over India’s Dorjvanchig Gombodorj, with the score their contest already 16-4 in his favour.

Iran have now won a total of 10 medals at these Championships, seven of them gold, four more than their nearest rivals Kyrgyzstan and China.

India celebrated securing the gold medal that had so far alluded them at these Championships when Sandeep Tomar beat North Korea’s Jong Hak-Jin 7-5 in the 57kg final.

Mongolia’s Sodnomdash Batbold won a high scoring bronze medal bout with Iran’s Younes Sarmastidizaji by 16-8 and Kyrgyzstan’s Ulukbek Zholdoshbekov overcame South Korea’s Kim Sunggwon by a fall to complete the podium.

The final women’s gold medal of the Championships was claimed by 2013 Asian youth champion Aisuluu Tynybekova.

The Kyrgyzstani graduaed to the senior 58kg title by edging Kazakhstan’s Aiym Abdildina 2-1.

China’s Zhou Zhangting and Mongolia’s Enkhbat Gantuya earned technical fall wins over Japan’s Mikako Higuchi and India’s Sarita Sarita respectively to win bronze.

With China having claimed three gold medals across the women’s divisions they secured the team title ahead of Japan.

The competition is due to conclude tomorrow with the final four men’s freestyle events.
