The Englishman ended his tenure as an international referee in January when he served as an assistant during the IKF Europa Cup final.

He had officiated in major matches since 2000, including at the IKF World Championship and the IKF European Championship.

In addition, he was also involved with the IKF Europe Shield, as well as the Europa Cup.

"He was a respected referee in so many matches in 15 years that the IKF Executive Committee awarded him the IKF Pin of Merit for his long lasting outstanding performances," said an IKF statement.

IKF Senior Vice-President, Frans Walvis, handed him the pin and a certificate in front of a sold out venue in Budapest, the Hungarian capital.
