The programme is targeted at providing key resources for the 29th edition of the event, as well as driving public participation and economic growth throughout Chinese Taipei, while preparations continue to build ahead of the event.

Sponsors will be organised into the four tiers, depending upon their entry amount, and grants sponsor rights and benefits by tier.

Over 30 different sponsor rights or benefit packages are claimed to be available as part of the programme, with six main categories.

The categories include sponsors being able to hold naming and logo rights, promotional and marketing benefits, PR benefits, on-site promotion, event recap and other special benefits.

Taipei 2017, in collaboration with the City Mayor and Government, have invited businesses to become part of the programme and provide resources for the event.

“It’s the time to join,” said Mayor Ko Wen-Je.

“Taipei Universiade is a really good chance for business to access the new market and strengthen the brand identity.”

In particular there has been a call for product, services and marketing collaboration support, with aviation, telecommunication, textile, automobile, banking, food and beverage, transportation and hospitality industries among those targeted by the organisers.

Taipei were awarded the Universiade in November 2011 by the International University Sports Federation, beating Brazilian capital Brasilia.

The event will feature 17 sports, including swimming, diving, basketball, fencing, football, judo, table tennis, tennis and volleyball, and will be held in venues across Taipei, Keelung, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu.

South Korean city Gwangju hosted last year's edition in July.
