Lindsey Vonn sealed another golden weekend by claiming a 73rd International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup victory in the super-G at Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, while Norwegian slalom specialist Henrik Kristoffersen triumphed as the men's tour resumed in Adelboden.

Vonn, who equalled Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proell's record haul of 36 career downhill victories yesterday, proved similarly dominant in the Austrian resort with a near-perfect performance.

She clocked 1min 12.75sec to finish seven tenths of a second clear of Switzerland's Lara Gut, her principal rival in the race for the overall FIS World Cup crown.

“It was tough at the bottom, but I really enjoyed the middle part of the course,” said the 31-year-old American winner, who also won the only other super-G this season at Lake Louise.

Home hope Cornelia Huetter claimed her second bronze medal of the weekend by securing the final place on the podium in 1:14.00.

Gut's lead at the top of the standings has now been trimmed to just 38 points over Vonn as the halfway point of the season approaches, with the Swiss on 738.

Frida Hansdotter of Sweden lies a distant third on 521 points, despite not competing today, while Huetter has risen to fifth.

Over the Swiss border, meanwhile, Kristoffersen secured a third World Cup slalom victory of the season following the cancellation of the giant slalom in foggy conditions yesterday (January 9).

The Norwegian rose from third place after run one with a flawless second effort to finish on 1:51.34.

Austria's overall World Cup champion Marcel Hirscher finished just 0.06 seconds behind in second place, while Russia's Alexander Khoroshilov was a further 0.54 seconds back in third.

Kristoffersen also lies third in the overall standings on 471 points, behind Hirscher on 721 and team-mate Aksel Lund Svindal, who lies on 636.

The men's World Cup season continues in Switzerland with alpine combined, downhill and slalom in Wengen between January 15 and 17.

The women will next head to Flachau in Austria for two slalom races, on January 12 and 17 and a giant slalom on January 16.

Flachau has replaced Ofterschwang in Germany which was unable to hold World Cup races due to warm temperatures and a lack of snow.
